Fort Lauderdale Inshore Fishing Charters

Easy-Entry, High-Action Fishing Close To Shore

If you’re new to fishing or not a big fan of rough ocean conditions, Fort Lauderdale inshore fishing charters are the perfect way to get on the water. These trips stay in protected inshore waters, focusing on steady action, light tackle, and hard-fighting species that don’t require a long run offshore.

You’ll be fishing with light tackle 12 lb spinning rods and live bait, so every fish feels bigger and every fight is more exciting. It’s hands-on, easy to learn, and a great introduction to Florida fishing.

What We Target Inshore

Inshore fishing trips around Fort Lauderdale typically offer some of the best fishing action. The most aggressive fish we can encounter is the barracuda—a hard-fighting, toothy predator almost everyone has heard of. Inshore barracuda can grow up to about 20 lbs, but most commonly you’ll see 5–10 lb fish that pull hard on light tackle.

Other common and occasional inshore species include:

  • Jack crevalle. My personal favorite for their powerful runs and relentless fight.

  • Snook. Classic South Florida inshore gamefish, often tight to docks and structure.

  • Tarpon. Less common in the daytime, but always a possible surprise catch.

Every hookup on the 12 lb spinning gear we use is a blast. And a truly big fish on this setup will give you a fight you won’t forget.
